I Woke Up at 3:45 AM So You Don't Have to Pretend You Will
By the time you hit snooze, I've journalled, cold-plunged and invoiced three people I haven't met.
Rich Quick is a fictional parody character, and every photo of him is AI-generated. He isn't based on any real person. Sadly, the type is.
People always ask me about my morning routine. Nobody has ever asked me twice, but the first time is very intense, so I've written it down. Read it slowly. Or quickly. Honestly, you'll do neither. You'll skim it on the toilet and then tell your partner you've "been thinking about waking up earlier." Bless.
3:45 AM: I open my eyes
Not because of an alarm. Alarms are for employees. My eyes open because my ambition kicks me in the shins. I lie still for one full minute and visualise my competitors sleeping. It's very peaceful. Most of them are you.
3:46 AM: Gratitude journal
I write down three things I'm grateful for. Today it was: me, the Reach Around Funnel™, and the fact that you are not my competition. Gratitude is important. It keeps you grounded, and grounded people are 312% easier to upsell.
3:52 AM: Cold plunge
It's a wheelie bin full of ice in the driveway, next to the Lambo. The neighbours have complained, twice, in writing. The neighbours have also never built a seven-figure personal brand, so I don't take notes from them. I take notes from me. I've got 400 notebooks of notes from me.
4:10 AM: Content
I record 14 videos of myself saying "Most people won't do this." I post them throughout the day. Most people don't watch them, which proves my point. That's called a self-fulfilling content strategy and I'm patenting it, emotionally.
4:40 AM: Breakfast
Six raw eggs, black coffee and a powder called Apex Mind Fuel™ that I sell at $189 a tub. It tastes like a five-cent coin. That's the taste of wealth. It's mostly cinnamon and confidence. Please don't email me about the label. The label is a vibe.
5:00 AM: First call, from the jet
I take my first call of the day from the jet. The jet is a set in an industrial estate behind a tyre shop. You can see the studio lights in every shot. People say, "Rich, we can see the lights." Yes. That's transparency. I'm a very transparent leader. I also have the stepladder in frame, because I'm not afraid to show you the climb.
6:30 AM: Peak performance window
I spend this hour thinking about you, the reader, still asleep, and feeling sorry for you in a productive way. Pity is just empathy that's been monetised.
9:00 AM: You wake up
Let's be honest. You saw this title and thought, "I could do that." You could not. You set an alarm for 5:30 once, in 2021. You turned it off in your sleep and dreamed you'd gone for a run. That's fine. That's why I exist. I woke up at 3:45 AM so you don't have to pretend you will.
A note on sleep
Now, some so-called experts say sleep matters. And I agree. Sleep is the foundation of peak performance, which is why I sleep eleven hours a day, from 1 PM to midnight. Then I wake up at 3:45 AM, because 3:45 AM is a mindset, not a time. Technically I'm a night-shift worker. With a jet. A stationary one.
Your challenge
Tomorrow, set your alarm for 3:45 AM. Don't do anything. Just lie there and think about everything I've already achieved. Then go back to sleep, because honestly, this lifestyle isn't for everyone, and you've made that very clear by being yourself.
Rise and grind. Or don't. I'm not your dad. I'm your Chief Growth Guru, which is better, and also billable.
